FAT

We all know about good cop and bad cop play. But what is Good fat and bad fat ?. Have you ever wondered, fat is good for our health ?. I was thinking the same, (Heck NO) how come fat is good for health.
But the answer is yes. Fat is good for health.

      Fats are three types
  • Saturated fat
  • Unsaturated fat  (It has two sub divisions).
  • Trans fat
All of them has pros and cons.But we have to be carefull about one thing that is Trans fat
Trans fatty acid were synthetically produced to reduce saturated fat intake and improve shelf life of boxed foods.These are the foreign structure that body cannot utilise them and adversely affect cholestrol. Trans fat can be find in deep fried foods,junk foods and processed baked foods (chips and cookies).

 So when you are shopping next time. watch the ingredients carefully avoid "Hydrogenated oil".

In the contrary the good guy is our Saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. I really want to mention two important factors saturated fats will do for us is

  • Saturated fats protect the liver from alcohol and other toxins. (I think it is a man's best friend now...!)
  • Saturated fats enhance the immune system.
  • Unsaturated fats will help us to reduce bad cholestrol in our blood and lower the risk of heart diease.

So my request is do not avoid all fats or oil. Eat good. Consume extra virgin olive oil or other nut oils that are unrefined, Seasame oil and nuts. Also let us not
forget about omega 3. Omega-3 fatty acids is in fish oil, fish and seafood have been shown to lower the risk of heart attacks
